We've really had enough rain now. Seriously. There are flood watches for parts of New England. I suppose this is better than being on fire, as some of the West is, but I'm feeling rather soggy, as I'm sure my garden is.

At least it makes for pretty pictures. I'm still seriously in love with my iPhone, and what it can do with photographs.

It's been raining on & off for a couple of days, which we've really needed. It's been a dry spring. Suddenly, everything is green.

I love how the wet dandelion poufs look like fireworks. These were in my driveway.

My phone takes wonderful pictures! One of the reasons I wanted it. :)

well, duh

I've been frustrated about LJ being out of commission (some people have said they could post and/or read their friends page, but not I), when it occurred to me that I have a journal here, too. I always forget about Dreamwidth. Not that I have anything particular to say, but like any addict, I need a fix. *g*

After the wet spring we had, I didn't think I'd be happy to see rain anytime soon, but yesterday's rain (real rain, not just sprinkles) felt wonderful. I could feel the earth drinking in the cool water, her parched landscape thirsting for refreshment. It cooled off nicely, too; I went for a nice walk after supper, and was rewarded with a lovely golden sunset.

My head is full of thoughts this morning, almost none of which pertain to my job. So many thoughts, so many plans I wish I could put into motion. Some of this is due to the fact that I will be entering another decade next week: I am in the last week of my forties. Not where I thought I would be by this time, that's for sure. Certainly not where I want to stay for much longer. I need to do some unstuck magick. How does one do that? I have to figure it out.

The one purchase I made at the festival was a pendulum. I was looking at the pretty stone pendulums, and this one jumped when I picked it up. I could swear I had a book about them, but I must have tossed that into the giveaway pile last year. So I will have to figure it out by myself. It's already told me what is yes and what is no, so at least I have a starting point.

I really need to get back to doing more daily magick. Like so many other things in my life, I've let that slide. I haven't been much of a cottage witch lately! Being around a bunch of magickal people at the festival helped to remind me what I am. It's too easy for me to fall into old patterns, and this is why I keep getting stuck.

So the focus for my fifties is: getting unstuck! Moving forward. It's a good place to be going.

I've been noticing a certain crankiness amongst my friends (and in myself) the past few days. I've also noticed that most of us are experiencing unpleasant weather. I know that too many grey, rainy days in a row tend to make me cranky. I imagine that flooding and drought would also be cranky-making.

I came home from work and changed right into my jammies. It's that sort of day. And it's supposed to rain for at least the next two days.

*sigh*

It was a very damp and dreary day today. I had to go down to the bank this morning, and I walked since it's silly to drive less than half a mile. Parts of the sidewalk are ripped up in the ongoing construction downtown, so my feet got rather damp trying to avoid puddles. After some hot chocolate and dry socks, I felt much better.

It eventually stopped raining (mostly), so I walked over to the cemetery to see what was in bloom. Not a lot so far, but these tulips looked pretty all dotted with dew.

I'm looking forward to the new Doctor Who tonight. All in all, not a bad day, which is much better than expected. Rain and all. :)

I thought I'd make it out before the rain started this morning, but by the time I got dressed, it had already started. I went out anyway. If you look closely at the bubbles, you can see my umbrella reflected in them.

Despite the walk this morning, I have wicked cabin fever. Probably because it's March, and spring fever has begun its inevitable tug on my soul. I keep wandering from window to window, hoping to see something different this time. Alas, it is still grey and rainy out there.

It was a little misty, too )

I keep plugging away at my Photoshop lessons; I'm up through lesson 6, which was Layers. I get a little thrill when what I do matches the picture in the book. *g*

I was going through more of my books to weed out the ones I want to donate to the library sale, and found a collage Willow had made for me when she was little. It had pictures of my cat, my roommate's cat, and her cats (along with an adorable picture of her when she was two). It's still hard to believe she's in college now!

I suppose I ought to try doing something useful now. *sigh*

We're supposed to get a lot of rain tomorrow, so I imagine a lot of this snow will be gone soon. Yes, I said rain. Rain! Not snow! It's so exciting.

Of course, this also means that we're in danger of flooding. But you don't have to shovel rain.

I got a $5 gift card for CVS from one of the survey places I belong to, so I bought myself some new nail color as a cheer-me-up. It's called Belle of the Ball )

It clashes with virtually everything I own. I love it. It's so springlike.

The day started out with freezing rain, the world coated in ice. It eventually turned to plain rain, which came down in buckets. I took a nap, did laundry, puttered around the house.

As I brought in the last load of laundry, the rain had stopped so I went for a walk. It was starting to get dark, and the holiday lights were pretty.

Very pretty, indeed. The parking lot down at the mill was all misty, and I could hear the falls behind it. Then, it started to rain again. Whoops. I got a bit damp, but it was worth it. How many nights in December can you go walking without a hat and gloves? OK, a hat would have been handy, but I didn't mind. It was a lovely evening's walk.

It was raining when I woke up this morning, so tentative plans to see the air show went out the window. The pilots still flew, but the ceiling is low so I don't know how anyone saw anything.

It stopped raining a bit ago, so I grabbed the chance to take a walk. I didn't get too far as it started sprinkling again, and my toes are quite damp, but it was good to get out of the house.

My treat today was watching a couple episodes of Buffy that I found on tape when I was looking for something else. Two of my favorites: the dream one from the end of season four, and "Once More with Feeling." I had "Where do we go from here" going through my head on my walk. *g*

I'm kind of glad I'm not still at camp, as it is raining a steady, soaking rain today. We do so need it, though, so I don't begrudge not being able to go walking on my lunch break. The grass is getting quite brown and crispy in a lot of places. I stepped in a puddle coming back from the car, but that's OK; it gives me an excuse to be barefoot while my shoes dry out. *g*

It's been a slow week here at Reminder Headquarters for World Domination*, but that's OK, too. I needed a slow week to get back into the groove.

A local candidate, who our editor refers to as "that slimy weasel," came in to reserve ad space for the election. I was proud of how professional I was, even though I loathe him. He's one of those good-looking, cocky guys who are full of ambition but have nothing substantial to offer. Plus, he's a Republican. *g* He's getting an endorsement from Senator Centerfold* this evening, which just pushes him lower into the slime pit in my estimation. ;)

I'm looking forward to having a weekend with no obligations. For once, my family reunion isn't the weekend after I get back from camp. That's such a relief. I can relax, finish unpacking, do some laundry, and sleep.

Oh, and for those of you who are fans, don't forget that Being Human starts again this Saturday! I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with those characters this season.

Have a fabulous weekend, all!

It makes sense, I suppose, that we're having April weather during June, since we had June weather in April. Right? Right.

I went out for a walk even though it was raining, because sitting at my desk all day gave me cabin fever after yesterday.

The rain did make this gerber daisy look very pretty, all covered in raindrops, though.

It's been mostly pouring most of the day, so I've been holed up here in the batcave for most of it. I did go for a walk when it looked like it had stopped, but it started up again soon after I walked out the door. Oh, well.

I watched The Big Chill while eating lunch; boy, I haven't seen that in a long time! Some really great moments in that movie. Great soundtrack, too. Gosh, everybody looks so young. It's weird to realize that I'm older now than they all were when they made it.

I started to tackle the living room, iPod playing my Babylon mix. I emptied out three boxes of junk, keeping very little of it. A lot of old computer books that are now obsolete, papers and receipts that are no longer useful, a set of speakers to a stereo I no longer own: flotsam and jetsam of a past life. I also have a pile of books to give to the library for their book sale, and a pile of things too nice to throw out that I no longer want; must find a place to take them and give them away. Work, maybe, or the next Sabbat I go to. I have a lot more to go through and get rid of. Feels good to purge.

Hmm, the rain seems to have abated again. Perhaps I should drag some of the trash out to the dumpster.
