birthdays & anniversaries

grrlfriday!!! You're definitely my coolest cousin. :)
I was awakened by the strains of "Don't Be Cruel," on NPR of all places, on my clock radio this morning. Yup, it's been 30 years since the King passed on. Hard to believe, ain't it? I am one of those who are old enough to remember where I was when I heard. It was my dad who told me, actually, when he got home from work. I wasn't a big fan back then, being a teen and into current pop music (and my parents weren't fans), but I have since come to love rockabilly in general, and Elvis in particular. Mostly his older, pre-Army stuff, of course. ;)
So, I have Elvis on iTunes this morning, remembering the King and feeling sorry for all the folks in Memphis in 100+ degree heat. Rock on!
