fail

I went to get my car inspected, and it turns out that since my license plate is old & cracked, I have to get it replaced before I can pass inspection. As it is snowing, I really don't want to drive to Easthampton to get them replaced, so that will have to wait until another day. I was so hoping to get that out of the way today.

I've had those plates since shortly after I moved to MA, probably spring '87. Actually, it's just the one, since you only needed one plate back then. Now I'll have to memorize a whole new number.

I hit the grocery store on the way home, and while there I bought a new notebook to scribble in. It's spring green, the color of new leaves, and hopefully will inspire me to fill it with fresh words.

I got a holiday family newsletter today from a cousin who used to be the kind of person to make fun of such things. Cracks me up every year.

I started watching The Wire last night, but it turns out to be not to my taste at all. I hear people raving about it all the time, but I just didn't like it. I'm just not interested in cops & drug dealers in Baltimore. The only cop show I ever really liked was Barney Miller. I bet my dad would have liked it, though. He loved cop shows, like Homicide and Hill Street Blues.

I keep wondering when someone will take exception to my plate - I've had it since 1978! It isn't cracked, but a lot of the green paint on the letters/#s is gone.

You'll find out at your next inspection!
