OK, so yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] stinabat was the first to take up the challenge of giving me an assignment. Her suggestion was "something gritty/ something with lots of texture/ something very urban." I think this photo captures all of those, yes?

That was fun! It took me out of my routine, had me checking out alleys and places I don't normally look for lens fodder, and gave me some exercise. Thank you for the great suggestion!

I will be working on the other suggestions/assignments in the weeks to come, and it's not too late to make more. Keep 'em coming!

Oh! And on the computer front: a Mac tower and monitor are coming home with me today, thanks to our Mac guru and the boss man. Yay!

Definitely different! I really like the one with the cracked window. The reflection and the poster create an interesting double image.

Thanks! I was hoping the poster would be more readable in the pic, because it's about revitalizing downtown, and makes the pic more ironic. *g*

Yay!

I also particularly the smashed window.

These are all stunning. The one with the cracked window is amazing.

That grabbed me as I was walking by it. It says a lot about our downtown without saying a word. :)

Thank you! I was inspired. :)

Oh, we'll make a historic buildings archaeologist of you yet!!

We should transport you to the medieval town centre of York and let you loose there, just to see what you come up with!

love it. nice job! i particularly like the underside of the rail road (?) bridge/overpass. really nice composition with the converging lines. the juxtaposition of smooth and rough textures as well as the lighting. it all works. visually yummy.

for me, it'a a three way tie with the bridge, the broken window and the recording studio.

fun. THANKS.

OMG, I would *love* that!

Thank *you*! You really inspired me. I couldn't wait to walk downtown after work yesterday. :)
