I just love the color of these little flowers. Does anyone know what they're called? They're popping up along the swampy area next to the pond down at the park.

ETA It looks like [livejournal.com profile] lamentables has identified it: Lungwort (pulmonaria_officinalis). Thanks!

It's quiet in here today, which is OK because I'm still wiped. My sleep schedule still hasn't caught up to Daylight Saving Time, I guess. I really hope I can sleep this weekend, because I so need it.

I forgot to mention the other day that I finally heard the peepers! They started their chorus just as I was leaving the park on Sunday. I hear them when I leave work now, too; there is a swamp through the woods behind our parking lot. It's such a lovely sound. I'll try to get down there some evening and take a video.

Speaking of videos, I took one of a marshy spot in the woods last weekend, complete with frogs croaking. You have to turn it up a bit to hear them. It's here if you care to watch it. I also took one of the rushing waters of the Little River; that one is here.

I'm up much too early this morning, especially considering that I didn't get home until after 11:30 last night. My body just doesn't seem to know how to sleep late anymore. I'd love to take a nap later, but I have a lot to get done today, and I want to be able to get to sleep tonight. It's a conundrum.

I had a lovely time at the coffeehouse last night. The performances were wonderful, as was the company. Saw lots and lots of LJ friends! About a dozen, I think. A few of you even performed! There were three (count 'em, three!) belly dancers, one of whom was making her debut and gave a beautiful, emotional performance. She got the biggest cheers. :)

I'm very glad I went. :)
