Lammas accomplished

Last night's Lammas fest was very nice. We had a few guests who either haven't been there before, or don't come very often, which was lovely. I forgot to tell everyone that I saw a couple of young ladies dressed in tutus and sunglasses waving at traffic on the way. They made me LOL in my car. :)

They had a chocolate cake and sang "Happy Birthday" to me and Justin, whose birthday is today. Thanks, guys! I may not like the number, but it's nice to have someone make a fuss over me. [livejournal.com profile] sea_dark_wine gave me some chocolate granola - yum! Presents that I can use up are the best. Especially if they're chocolate. *g*

I stayed over, but was awake at the crack of dawn as usual, so I hit the road. Early Sunday morning traffic is great! Much better than Saturday afternoon. I saw more out-of-state plates than local ones. The rising sun on the ochre rocks was beautiful. There was a bit of fog in Palmer, in a hollow on the Pike. It was a pretty ride.

I think I'm ready to go back to bed now.

heh

One of the regular guests at the coven, Karen, made this face out of bread, eggs, and various veggies. It held dip. She's so cute!

ooh, aah

The fireworks down the street at Stanley Park this evening were really awesome! I had gone down early to walk around in the woods, where I found some neon orange fungi and a frog in a puddle (pix later - too late tonight to process & upload them). Then I wandered around the rose garden, where I found a pretty green Vespa (and my next door neighbor, who inexplicably asked if it was my boyfriend's. Huh?) parked behind a row of motorcycles. As the sun went down, I wandered over to the field and ran across some friends I hadn't seen in a while, and sat with them since the former coworker I was to meet wasn't answering her phone. We watched the slim crescent moon go down, and chatted while we waited for the main event. All I can say is, Wow! They were among the best fireworks I've ever seen. They went on for a long time, and were really big & loud. It was cool to hear the echoes off the hills. The crowd loved them, cheering at the display. My friend surmised that perhaps they had a surplus, being past the regular fireworks season. It was a lovely night, and I'm glad I went. :)
