Spring fever in January

It's 63 degrees outside. In January, in Massachusetts. I'm going outside! I have the windows open! I can hear birds chirping!

It doesn't take much to make me happy. *g*

Apparently, the weatherologists are blaming this on El Nino. Whatever; I'm going to enjoy it!

We must have watched the same newscast

Yeah, they say "El nino." Good.

But in my movie about THE END OF THE WORLD, the government has reliable science proving that we're f@cked. They lie about it (as the cigarette companies lied about smoking and cancer) to keep peace among the masses. They build private spaceships, and space stations and find a way to leave Earth behind. When it is too late for the rest of us, it finally become clear that they were lying all along. They go off, "Flying Mother Nature's silver seed to a new home in the sun." Anarchy, famine, pestilence and war are what the rest of us inherit after we have been left behind.

But that's just fiction. Stuff like that doesn't happen in real life. So - yeah. El nino. (Whew)

This weather is freaking me out...we walked around Lark Street and I was sweating in a light jacket...the gal at the Indian restaurant said it was 73 degrees! If we'd already had some normal winter weather I'd be happy with this "thaw" but all this warmth is starting to bode badly for the trees and other plants (Northeast apple crops ay fail, and cheery trees are in blossom months too early), not to mention confusing a lot of animals whp normally migrate or hibernate...

But it is nice to have nice weather...I guess I wish I could enjoy it more...I am taking to dog for a run before it gets dark and maybe commune with the crows...
