Yesterday's Beltane ritual at the barn in Grafton was a lot of fun, and a great success! [livejournal.com profile] firespirit1 estimated we had about 75 participants, and the weather held until after we had all gone inside for the feast.

Once again, we had a Morris troupe to teach us dances and lead the maypole weaving. I have to say that as I get older, it gets harder to keep up the energy to dance and weave for so long! I'm envisioning a shorter maypole (or watching from the sidelines) as we age. *g*

I left before the needfire ritual was to happen, but by then it was raining in earnest, and I hear it has been postponed. By the time I got home, the clouds were breaking up, and there was a lovely line of pink in the sky to the west.

It was a fun day, and I have two more Beltanes to go!

Love the photo. Needfire ritual will probably happen at Woolman Hill. We need a good ritual for the retreat.

I had fun at the SEF Beltane last year...

this year will be going to Ganymede, we may drag RJ Stewart along from the conference if he wants to go...

That would be a riot!

That sounds so wonderful. :)

It really is. We have such a great community here. :)

You're very lucky.

I love it here, but everything is so HUGE and spread out that it's hard to develop a sense of closeness or community or really find people of like kind to bond with.

I bet! I was very lucky, indeed. There were other folks in the community with whom I could've been involved, and things would've turned out very differently.

In case you haven't heard 495s has night construction going on so if you are planning on going that way "be prepared for minor delays. "

Thanks! It's probably still better than going 95 to 24, though. :)

Definitely. It only bottlenecks for a short time.
Have fun!
