yay, sunshine

It was gratifying to see sunshine and blue sky today, even if it was still cold and windy. I managed to pry myself out of the house for a walk, with no destination in mind. I went rather farther than I'd intended, down East Main until the sidewalk ran out, and over to East Silver back toward home. I stopped at Rite Aid for a few moments to warm my cheeks and ears before making the last leg up the hill, looking at all the pretty nail colors that I would never wear. Yes, there are colors even I wouldn't wear! They are pretty to look at, though.

I'm not sure what sort of plant the above picture is of, but it's interesting. Take a look at the large size to see the fuzzy hairs and seeds in detail; the focus came out rather well on this one.

Oh! And the daffodils at the front of my building have sprouted! I hope they don't freeze to death before it gets warm enough for them to really grow.

Thank you! I almost walked by them, but something made me stop and look more closely. Even amongst the brown, there is beauty.

Exactly! Sometimes the sere is more beautiful in its own way.
