goose & swan story

family, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

As I was walking out of Heritage Park this afternoon, I spotted a family of geese by the pond, so I went over to see if I could get some pix of the goslings. I haven't seen any since that poor little lost guy a few weeks ago.

The parents were wary, but the kids were quite nonplussed by my presence, so I crept closer, snapping away with my camera.

Meanwhile, Mr. Prissy Swan was swimming back and forth at the edge of the pond, and the goose was hissing at him.

The goose then launched into the water, and there was a spectacular hissy fight, most of which I failed to capture.

The goslings were all, "What's going on?"

"Do we hide in the bushes?"

"Do we go in the water?"

Eventually, they decided on the water.

Mama goose came over, keeping them safe from nasty Mr. Swan.

And everybody lived happily ever after, the end.

The goslings really do look very "umm.... now what?"

Water's always a good bet.

Thanks for the pics and story!

Aren't they? They're not so cute once they get big, but when they're little they're darling. :)
