bugs' life

monarch, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

Finally, a butterfly I was able to sneak up on and get a picture of! I have been happy to see many more butterflies this year than last, but none of them have held still long enough for me to get a picture until today.

This very large spider has set up right outside my door.

DSCN1402

Its web is attached to the shrub where I usually toss the spiders I evict from my bathroom. None of them, thank goodness, have been this big. If they were, you would probably have heard me screech from where you are.

*shudder*

He's huge. *shudder*

YAY for the perfectly beautiful Fall-colored butterfly shot! It is such a joy when they decide to pose for the camera, isn't it?

It is. They are so skittish! I was able to sneak up on this one, holding my camera low so he couldn't see it. :)

I'm quite glad it's not in my garden!

He is pretty intimidating. At least he's outside!

Awesome spider! I don't like 'em indoors, but if that one were in my garden, I wouldn't mind. It would probably be doing good things for the garden.

I was afraid a bird would get him; he's right there out in the open. He was rebuilding his web this morning after the rain. :)
