spring at last
Today was just glorious: warm, sunny, a few puffy clouds, a slight breeze. Perfection. I planted some gladiola & lily of the valley bulbs this morning, as well as sunflower seeds along the border between my garden and my neighbor's. I still have lots of room for other things! Maybe some ornamentals. Steve, our handyman, helped me move some daffodils from behind the barn to the front of the garden. He also found some more tools, and a decent hose, in the barn.
After lunch, I went over to the wildlife refuge for a long walk in the woods. I heard singing frogs, and saw an owl. Green things are sprouting up all over. On the way back to the car, I even heard a few peepers.
I stopped at Target to get some potting soil, so I attached the window boxes to the railing on the deck and planted several of my herbs in them. I also potted the lavender plant I got at Trader Joe's, and put the woodruff in the ground near the daffodils.
Yay, garden!
