George weighs in

From E! online, George Clooney says this about Proposition 8:

"At some point in our lifetime, gay marriage won't be an issue, and everyone who stood against this civil right will look as outdated as George Wallace standing on the school steps keeping James Hood from entering the University of Alabama because he was black."

You go, George! *g*

Yay Connecticut!

Another state has joined the 21st century: Conn. court overturns same-sex marriage ban! I live less than 10 miles from CT (and work less than 5), so they're neighbors. Hooray! Civilization is spreading out from MA. *g*

exasperated

This has been a most exasperating week. I've had too many customers who just don't get it, and keep asking me the same questions over and over. I had one who just couldn't make a decision, and I wanted to ask her how she decided what to wear that day. Really! How do some of these people even get out of bed in the morning? Crikey, suck it up people! Get with the program! Sheesh.

At least California has come through on gay marriage. Actually, I'm surprised that Massachusetts beat them to it. Do you think the Supreme Court would ever have the guts to make that ruling?

Here's the most surprising bit:

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has twice vetoed legislation that would've granted marriage rights to same-sex couples, said in a news release that he respected the court's decision and "will not support an amendment to the constitution that would overturn this state Supreme Court ruling."

Let's hope the rest of the state is as level-headed, and doesn't let a few small-minded groups determine what the rest of them can & can't do. (And who thought I'd ever call Arnold "level-headed"? *g*)

Victory!

Legislators vote to defeat same-sex marriage ban! Go, Massachusetts! The narrow-minded, loudmouthed minority will *not* get the chance to vote on other peoples' civil rights. The system *does* work sometimes. Yay!
