morning walk

lizziebelleI took a nice, long walk down at the wildlife sanctuary in Stanley Park this morning. It was nice & quiet; I only ran into one or two people out in the woods. I heard several raucous crows, a large woodpecker, a couple of chickadees, and many small critters scuttling around in the undergrowth. On the edges of the woods, there were lots of jewelweed and goldenrod in bloom.
Things are starting to turn, but it's still mostly green. There were a few cool mushrooms, but my camera still stubbornly refuses to focus on them. I must remember to get dad's old SLR from mom next time I visit; it has a great zoom lens with which I can get in really close.
