What a gorgeous day today. I had the windows open at the office all day, and pined away in my cubicle because I would so much rather have been outside, rambling around fields and woods.

I went for a long walk right after supper, heading down West Silver Street to look for morvenwestfield's grandparents' houses. Her grandfather's house is gone, but I found her grandmother's, on a street I'd never been down before. It's a nice little street, with woods and the river across from the house. I saw the above rainbow on the way there; a woman saw it too and ran into her house for her camera. We both took pictures of it. :)

There was a beautiful sky the whole walk home.

Such a lovely spring evening it was. Perfect for a long walk down to the park, where the setting sun gilded flowers and the peepers sang.

It finally stopped raining, but got chilly this evening. I saw this lovely pastel sunset on my after-supper walk.

I think it's going to be a quiet evening with a book and a cup of tea. Sounds like just the ticket.

This is what I see for a good part of my commute home these days: not much of anything, thanks to the sun. While it's nice that it's not dark when I get out of work, I do rather like to see where I'm going. *g*

I feel much better today. Not quite back to normal, but not that ugh feeling I had for a few days. I just had a sandwich, the first real food I've had since Friday. I haven't been able to do more than nibble since then.

I was disgusted by the gas prices I saw today. I don't care what the AG says, it's gouging. There's no way the rise in oil prices can have affected gas prices this quickly. They're up nearly twenty cents since Monday. Greedy bastards.

A coworker left these cookies on my desk this morning. Macaroons! Nom.

Another coworker asked me when the days start getting longer, so I looked up the sunrise/sunset times and, as it turns out, we're at the earliest sunset right now. It's a couple more weeks until the days start getting longer, but they won't get any earlier, and in just over a week they'll start getting later again. That's cheering. (Sunset is at 4:20 here, until next Wednesday)

I stopped at the farm stand on the way home and got some lovely orange tomatoes (which made a yummy sandwich), and the first of the local honeycrisp apples. Nom!

I then took a walk around the block, watching the sunset light up the clouds in cotton candy colors.

Looking for tonight's project; I have so many from which to choose!

It wasn't so much fun to have to work on my birthday, but at least it was busy. I had a warm glow all day from all the well-wishes on Facebook and LJ; social networking is fun! *g*

This handful of blackberries, a gift from the Earth, is now in my belly. I found them last week, when they were still ripening, and was hoping that the birds wouldn't beat me to them. Thanks, Mother Nature!

Another gift was the sunset.

I really like the dawn/dusk setting on my camera. It makes everything glow.

The moon is smiling, like the Cheshire cat; she has a secret, but she'll tell it to you if you know how to listen.
