Hazy sky + volcanic ash = nice sunsets. Especially when framed by the gate at the Japanese garden at Stanley Park. :)

I took another walk earlier, going down to Amelia Park where not much was in bloom. I found some pretty poppies on the way back though.

Yes! It makes for great sunsets. All that stuff in the atmosphere makes them redder.

I've been really alarmed at how many trees have been cut down lately. Some of them were due to storms, but not all.

we've lost a lot of them here too. this has been due to the draught last year. it was not a good summer.

My favorite is the poppy at the end! Closely followed by the Japanese gate.
