lizziebelleI don't understand why, after I say that my name is Elizabeth, so many people immediately start calling me Liz. Did I just tell you that my name is Liz? No, I did not. What makes you think it's OK to call me Liz? Is 'Elizabeth' too hard to say? Do you think that you are endearing yourself to me? Would you call the Queen 'Liz'? I think not.
Same thing with my nickname, LizzieBelle. Not Lizzie. I have one friend who calls me L.B., which is better than Lizzie, I suppose. He is trying to be cute. The reason I don't like 'Lizzie' is that I used to work with someone by that name, and we did not get along, to put it lightly.
So anyway, that's my pet peeve of the day. Can you guess why? *g*
What annoys you in this way? Gum chewing? Talking on a cell phone in a movie theatre? People who drone on and on about their pet peeves? ;)
