lizziebelleToday started out with a sobering message from coworker Diane that her brother (who's been in a coma since the holidays) will be taken off life support today; his kidneys failed yesterday. She knew this was coming, but still. Hard to deal with. He's 65.
So of course she also left me a very convoluted message about one of her candidates' ads, which I had to figure out. Plus I had to deal with a missing classifed in zone B, and Beth wasn't here yet. Oh, and there were a couple of other fires to be put out, and all of this was before 9:00.
Breathe.
So I ate my yogurt, cleaned all the extraneous paper off my desk (there was an awful lot of it all of a sudden), and waited for people who could help me to come in. Eventually they did, and things got straightened out.
Whew.
Started a new story over the weekend, and I think I have to scrap most of it and start over. I like the premise, but not the execution. Actually, it's the protagonist's employment that I don't like. I think she needs to be an actress for it to work properly. So it's back to square one. I worked out a rough outline at lunch, sitting down at the park, with small children and geese running around and squawking. Not surprisingly, I didn't get too far, but I have some idea of direction now.
Yesterday was very slow around here in the afternoon, so instead of working I downloaded Yahoo Messenger. I can't use it at home; if they even make it for Macs, they sure don't make it for OS9. So if you see me online, pop in and say hi! My SN is ariadnebel.
Right now, Kim is at lunch, so I can't make any calls to customers. Gotta be able to answer the incoming ones. So here I am. :)
