My 'new' G5 Mac came with an older version of Photoshop, which I had no idea how to use (and was a little intimidated by). I asked one of my coworkers in the graphics department about it, and she recommended Adobe's Classroom in a Book, which I immediately requested from interlibrary loan. Jackpot! It comes with a CD of images for lessons, and takes you step by step through different techniques and tools. I completed lesson 4 today (I can fix wrinkles! Well, in photos anyway), and it's fun.

My biggest problem has been making a steady selection with the mouse. Then I remembered that I have a Wacom tablet (a very small one) that I bought about ten years ago, and was in the 'to be dealt with later' pile. I Googled Wacom drivers, and lo and behold, they actually make one that I can use. Voila! I even still have the pen tool that came with it, which is a miracle.

I'm looking forward, once I get a few more lessons under my belt, to playing with some of my own photos. Whee!
