I got a lot done today, so I rewarded myself with a walk along the river, where the ice is melting and the swans are happy. All the snow melt has made the water really high, too.


I finally opened a new checking account with a local bank; the one I was with is based in western MA, and the nearest branch is in Shrewsbury, which isn't very convenient. I went with Avidia, which I've heard good things about from various people.

Then I dropped off the keys for my PO box, which I don't need anymore so I didn't renew it.

Then I went to get my car inspected. They don't do it at the dealership, but they have an arrangement with a garage nearby.

I'd borrowed my friends' dump permit, so I took all my recycling over there. It felt good to get that gone!

I went to Sally Beauty Supply to look for a new hair color. I'm just not happy with the selection of reds in semi-permanent color at the drugstore. We'll see if I like this one any better! It's certainly less expensive.

I went to Ocean State Job Lot to look at what they have for bulbs and seeds. Didn't buy anything, but got a few ideas. I picked up some handled bucket-tubs for recycling, and some dried fruit for oatmeal.

I feel really accomplished today! Now I have tomorrow to do whatever I want. I hope it's nice out; I'd love to go for a longer jaunt.

Oh, speaking of hair, can anyone local recommend a hairdresser who is good with short hair, especially hair with curl to it? I'm not thrilled with my last haircut. I think it's time to find someone new.
