My friends Pam & Greg came over for a walk down in Stanley Park this afternoon. They were wowed by all the trees, flowers, and other cool stuff there. It's really an amazing space, and Greg used to be in the tree biz so he knew the names of most of them. Every time I go there, I discover something new; this time, it was dinosaur tracks! They were behind bars, so they weren't very photogenic. I took lots of other pix, though-- follow the link to see them all!

All sorts of different things were in bloom this time, like the rhododendrons and columbine. That exotic purple jack-in-the-pulpit turns out to be Japanese. The water wheel at the mill was running, and the door was open so you could see that it's a replica of a sawmill.

Pam was musing that it was a lovely place to have a wedding. Then a huge SUV stretch limo pulled up, disgorging a wedding party into the rose garden! The bride was a vision in a pale lavender princess gown, complete with tiara. I'm glad for them that it didn't rain. We felt a couple of drops at one point, but the sun made an appearance and all was well.

It was a lot of fun to share the park with friends, especially Pagan friends who appreciate the beauty of the trees and the grounds. It was a really fun afternoon. :)
