I survived my first day at the new job. It was really kind of fun! There were lots of people to meet, and everyone was really nice and seemed to like working there, which I took as a good sign. There is so much to take in and learn! They actually have a training schedule, which is also a good sign. I met with a couple of people today, and will meet with more in the coming days. Learning all aspects of the biz, which I like. I really want to learn all about publishing. This will be really good experience.
The day flew by, which was good since I'm not used to working a full day any more. They even have a picnic table where I can eat my lunch outside! That was nice. I read all six of their papers today. They're mostly the same, with little differences for different communities. I spent some time with Noreen, who is the assistant to the publisher, and learned a lot about the papers from her. I mentioned that we should go after tag sale ad business, which really impressed her. Good work for a first day!
Hopefully tomorrow they'll have a computer for me. I have to take in some stuff to decorate my work area; pix, knick-knacks, maybe a plant. Oh, and some magnets. Fun stuff. :)
