OK, so I did my tarot reading last night. And the final card was....
yep, you guessed it: Death. All I can say is at least it wasn't the Tower. Change I've had plenty of in the past year or so. I can deal. And I have kinda been in an "out with the old, in with the new" mode lately. I just hope it's a change for the better.
I went to my first sales meeting this morning. My boss wanted me to be there because they were going to be talking about some new promotions coming up. Which they did, and it was good to learn about them. But I have to say that the meeting was incredibly boring. Thank goodness I don't have to go to them every week! They're for the outside sales force, and I'm inside sales. I could never do what they do. Nor would I want to. Tom jokingly asked later if I wanted to go to them all the time. I said no thank you. He laughed. He thinks they have them too often, and I have to agree. Chris, one of the owners, was there, and consequently everyone was on their best behavior. Thank goodness for small favors! I hear the meetings every monday, and they're usually raucous and silly. Like the time they did a conga line through the building. Sheesh! How is that supposed to motivate people? Ya gotta wonder sometimes.
Daylight savings time ended yesterday, and it was depressing to get out of work in the dark. I hate that. At least it's better than when I worked till 6 in the retail world, but still it's not fun. Makes me want to go to bed even earlier. And I hate going out after dark. I'm such a homebody! I woke up at 5 this morning; my internal clock is still on daylight savings time. It'll take me a few days to adjust. I remember when I had my cat, Robin; it always took him a few days to adjust, too. Cats can't tell time. They just know it's their usual dinner time. You can't tell them that we turned the clocks back or forward. They really don't care. They just want to be fed.
I was hoping to have some interesting dreams last night. The only dream I remember, though, was about work. How ordinary. *sigh*
Hey, something cool did happen today: they gave us a gift certificate for a free turkey! How nifty is that? I emailed mom and asked her if I should use it for Thanksgiving. Evelyn told me later that we also get a bonus at Christmas. What a cool company! They really appreciate and take care of their employees. I really found the right place. That's such a relief. I don't make a ton of money, but I'm happy there. I fit in. :)
