House full of Witches
Mar. 20th, 2005 06:15 pmLast night was the Grand Sabbat, as we called it. There were 46 (or was it 47) Witches in one house, celebrating the return of Spring. It was so cool to have so many people in our family gathered together. It truly was like a family reunion, with various spouses & guests along for the fun. I was amazed that we all fit in the dining room, which had been converted into a temple for the evening. There were at least six different covens represented, all of us either in or directly descended from Ganymede/Cthonioi (did I spell that right?). Photos were taken to document the event.
There was lots of schmoozing going on, which meant that we didn't get started until really late. I think it was around midnight when we closed the circle. And then we ate. And watched silly shorts on the giant screen TV. I was watching this trippy screen saver for a while (was that with you,
leenah?). There was mead and various & sundry other yummy drinkables. I was very glad not to be driving; I rode with my HPs and two covenmates.
By the time we got home & in bed, it was after 2:30. I slept like a rock, but only until about 7:30, when I heard my HPS in the kitchen with the cat. I managed to doze again until about 9, when I finally got up. J made fabulous corn/oat waffles for breakfast, and then I hit the road for home. They were forecasting snow for the late afternoon (which has yet to arrive, oh well). After checking my email, I took a nap and ended up having a nightmare. In it, my car got broken into, and I had a ghost moving things around the apartment. I was trying to get rid of the ghost; at one point I made a banishing pentagram at it! I guess I'm a Witch even in my dreams. :)
Went to the grocery store after my nap; now I'm set for the week. I found some frozen entrees from Moosewood, which were on sale so I'm giving them a try. I have a cousin who works at Moosewood in Ithaca.
My boss is back from vacation tomorrow, but my sometimes-annoying coworker is away for more than a week. Should be a good week. ;)
