grey morning
May. 22nd, 2005 08:29 amSunday has dawned all grey and drizzly. Which is just as well; I have no plans to go anywhere today. Feeling a bit foggy myself this morning. At least I won't have to water my pansies!
I had a very nice time at Berta & Cheryl's cookout yesterday. I got there sometime after 3, and there was only a handful of folks there before me. Finally got to meet baby Thea Elizabeth; OMG she has so much hair! We were all bald babies in my family. People trickled in over the course of the afternoon, and there was a respectable crowd before too long. It was cool and slightly drizzly, though, just like last year. Anthony had a nice fire going in the backyard, which we all huddled around for warmth. After a couple glasses of mead, I was hit with a fit of the giggles. I was very silly indeed. It didn't help that people were taking delight in making me giggle more. Cruel, cruel friends! My cheeks were hurting.
Jim brought along a guy that I assumed was his date, but turned out to be a friend from work who is, get this, straight. And, get this-- he lives in Holyoke. That's about 20 minutes away from me! Oh, my. He's very cute. And he has my phone number now. Holly kept bugging me to make sure I gave it to him. Thanks, Holly! :)
I smiled all the way home.
