relief at last

At least, so far! The gods of coolness have smiled upon me today. They fixed the a/c at work, and when I got home, Appliance Repair Dude was waiting for me. He hauled a different unit out of the storage area and plugged it in. It worked. So he hauled out the old unit and replaced it with the newer one. It was a bit smaller, so he packed foam around it so buggies won't get in. How thoughtful! My apartment is now pleasantly cool and comfortable. Looking forward to restful sleep tonight. Yay!

It's going to be a full weekend. Lakshmi's annual Barn Party is tomorrow. That should be fun. I won't be staying over like I usually do, though; I have to be in Amherst at 8 a.m. on Sunday. For the Renaissance Faire! Wow, I can't believe it's here. It seems like it was months away forever, and boom it's here. Wowee, zappo! It's supposed to be hot, too. Yikes. For a fire person, I really don't like to be hot. Well, I don't like to be cold either. Extremes of either direction are not good. But I really don't do well in the heat. I can't get right into hot tubs; I have to go in stages: feet, legs, etc. And I get cooked after just a few minutes.

Anyhoo. Not cooking this evening. Yay!
