Slow day at work today. Lots of people are on vacation this week. When I left, there were only five people in the building, and two of us were leaving. It was kinda weird.

I have tomorrow off. It's my birthday, and I need to get my license renewed. I'm also going to get my hair cut. It's getting shaggy. Also, I just don't want to work on my birthday! They give us the day off, paid, which is cool. We can take it anytime in the month, but why not on the actual day?

Had a nice chat with Johanna, one of my former roommates, today. She sounds in good spirits, which is a relief. Her sister died from lung cancer last month, and I was a little worried about her. I left her a couple of messages, but didn't connect until today. She's busy planning a trip to Greece next month.

Had another nice chat with my aunt Maggie this evening. She lives outside Albany, which is just over an hour away, so we're trying to plan a get-together sometime. I thought maybe lunch in Lee or Lenox would be fun, and then we can window shop at the outlet mall. I like Maggie a lot; she's my youngest aunt, and she's probably the same age as Johanna. She was a teenager when I was a little kid. Crazy about the Beatles. We escaped the craziness the other day and hung out under the apple tree.
