I went to the Drum & Dance last night with Cymbri. Man, it's out in the middle of nowhere! I wasn't sure we were going to find it. We had directions, but I didn't know the roads and we took a wrong turn or two; somehow we ended up where we were supposed to anyway. There was a good crowd, and they were already going strong by the time we got there. It was very strange to hear drumming indoors! It took me a few minutes to get into the beat and the surroundings. I decided that I was more in the mood for dancing than drumming. Dancing on a wood floor was odd, too; I'm much more used to dancing on the ground around a fire. But I got into it and had a good time. There were a couple of cool moments with spontaneous singing & chanting, and the drummers caught up quickly. They were pretty good, keeping up and not losing the beat. I was impressed. A couple of the singers, however, had some pretty, uh, interesting ideas about harmony and rhythm. And the room was absolutely full of Drama Queens. Nothing I haven't seen before. ;)

Lopsy was supposed to call me this morning to go tag saling with her. I guess that's not happening. That's OK; I was feeling overscheduled today. This afternoon is the potluck, which we're doing as a picnic. I wasn't sure I wanted to go, but I really should. I have no idea what to bring. Maybe some watermelon? That's always a hit. Or maybe a roast chicken. The weather is really nice today, too-- perfect for a picnic.

Tonight is Wendy's party down in CT. I have no idea who's going to be there, beyond a couple of folks who posted on the Babylon list. I want to go, but I don't. You know? Part of me just wants to stay home. Especially since I went out last night. But once I get there I'll be glad I went. I complain about party poopers; don't want to be one myself!
