oi! more snow!
Dec. 4th, 2005 11:28 amWas it supposed to snow today? I didn't remember that from the forecast on Friday. It's pretty, though! I was going to go to Trader Joe's this morning, but I guess that's out. I might go out walking later and take pictures.
Yesterday was fun. I got a swingy new 'do, and saw some old buds at Filene's. I'd forgotten that they're closing in the spring; Federated bought out their parent company, May, and is closing stores where there's also a Macy's. That sucks for the employees, especially the ones who've been there a long time. They still don't know what's going to happen; they haven't been offered any kind of package yet. It also stinks for the customers: there will be less choice and no competition. And another New England institution bites the dust.
The party was fab. I've never seen so many people in that house! Saw lots of LJ buds, got to hear a violin recital by the fabulous Justin, drank yummy homemade mead, gossiped, commiserated about Serenity, and got lots of hugs. The shoes were a big hit. I had a really nice time. Oh! My door prize was an amber-colored velvet scarf! Do they know me, or what?
Wow, the snow is really coming down. I suppose I should check the weather channel and see how much we're supposed to get. I should take this as a sign to get stuff done around the house, but I have the new Neil Gaiman book (Anansi Boys) beckoning me, and a Lost DVD from Netflix to similarly distract me.
