Today is Mozart's 250th birthday!

(Subject line stolen from [livejournal.com profile] sea_dark_wine. :))

Ever since I saw Amadeus, I've wanted to have a dog named Wolfie. Preferably one that looks at least vaguely wolf-like. Actually, naming a cat Wolfie would be even funnier. ;)

This being Imbolc, I've decided that I've had quite enough of winter and I'm taking off for warmer climes. I have just enough in my checking account for a ticket to New Mexico, so off I go to join an artist's colony in Taos. I'm leaving all my magickal books to the coven, all my clothes to my sister, and my CD collection to Willow. I've traded in my iMac for a used iBook, sold my car in The Reminder, and donated all my furniture to the Salvation Army. Anyone who wants my poor, suffering plants is welcome to them.

I haven't told them at work yet; I think I'll just send them a postcard from the airport. I'm sure they won't be terribly surprised. It's no secret that I've been restless lately, not finding work fulfilling.

I've been corresponding with a 28-year-old artist who sounds dreamy, and I'm moving in with him. He wants to paint me, both figuratively and literally, and I'm disposed to letting him; I've never been painted before. I saw some of his work on his website, and it's incredible. Such use of color! He makes me dream in fuchsia and saffron.

I'm changing my name to Sunshine, which was suggested by my artist friend after I told him about a dream I had where we took a rocket past the sun and found another Earth on the other side, one where mankind had never evolved and everything was pure and untouched. He said we can fly there every night in each others' arms.

When I get to New Mexico, I plan on finishing my novel and getting it sent off to the publisher. Then I have to start the next one! I think I will be suitably inspired. :)

So good-bye New England, with your cruel winters and parched summers. I'm off to sunnier pastures and the peace of the desert. See you in another life!
