I had a nice time at the Women of Wands meet & greet yesterday. We had a smaller than usual crowd, but conversation was lively. I picked up the new issue of Faerie Magazine, which looks lovely and has articles about Peter Pan and the Green Man, amongst others. I had turned in my bucks at work for a Barnes & Noble gift certificate, which was handy.

I left B&N for the covenstead, stopping for gas first. Man, the price of gas is getting to the painful stage again. Sheesh! Anyhoo, it was nice to be travelling during daylight for most of the trip. It will be Samhain before I have to make it in the dark again. Yippee! Stopped at Star Market (man, I wish we had those around here) and got a nachos kit for the feast. I ended up making it before circle because I was quite peckish, and Jessica was very enthusiastic about that. [livejournal.com profile] justjanus helped us finish it off.

We also had a smaller than usual crowd for circle. I decided I wanted to be South, which I found meant that I got to be Pan. Woo hoo! I felt him quite strongly when I was being invoked on; I could feel horns on my head and a shaggy little tail on my behind. He was in quite the frisky mood. Laura played the part of Spring to the North, and she was very luminous in that role. I gave her a big hug afterward. Alas, that was all the action I could offer Pan. I think he wanted more. ;)

We were done pretty early, even for us. I drove home, since Mom is sick with a cold so I wouldn't be visiting, and my ribs had been very painful the night before and I didn't think I could sleep on the sofa. I got home just before midnight, and got to bed around one. Thankfully, the pain in my ribs had abated enough for me to get a decent night's sleep for the first time in a few days; I slept until after ten! It's back to being just sore today, instead of excruciating like it was yesterday. I appear to be on the mend. Hurray for that!

I got up enough ambition to clean the bathroom this afternoon. Then I watched the rest of Wallace & Gromit. It was cute, but I liked the last one better. I'm not sure they're up to feature-length quality yet. The shorts were just right for the stories & humor. Plus, sheep! Much funnier than bunnies. (Hear that, Shawn? I *like* sheep. Really, I do!) I had seen A Close Shave in the theatre, which was great fun. There was a festival of Aardman animation at the Kendall way back when, and they showed Creature Comforts as well. That's hysterical. Animals in the zoo... how can you go wrong?

Johanna is coming to stay over Wednesday night so she can go for a test in Holyoke the next morning. I suppose I should vacuum or something. ;)
