The FBI ordered four librarians to turn over patrons' library records and shut up about it. The librarians refused to do either.

I'm proud to count several librarians as friends, including [livejournal.com profile] textiletart and [livejournal.com profile] perseph12. Librarians rock.

I made it throught the workweek. I didn't bitchslap anyone, I didn't quit in disgust, and I wasn't snarky to any customers. Go me. Yay, it's the weekend!

Tomorrow is the yearly SEF retreat up at Woolman Hill in Deerfield, MA. I can't afford the whole weekend this year (I really can't afford the day either, but I can't miss it), so I plan to pack lots of fun and hugs into the day. Hopefully the rain will stop long enough for me to head out onto one or more of the many trails through the woods that I'm so fond of. I'm sure both the ritual and the feast will be kick-ass. It's the 10th anniversary. Woo!

I just have to interject here that typing, especially when there's HTML involved, is considerably more difficult after having a glass of wine. Just sayin'.

The one Saturday that was plan-free on my calendar this month now has something planned. The next open Saturday is sometime in mid August. I'm sure something will come up before then.

Our editor, Mike, gave me a DVD (Antone's House of Blues) that he'd received two copies of. Woo! It has lots of blues performances on it, including Stevie Ray Vaughn. Love SRV. He knows I love blues, and that I had a rotten week. He's a good guy. Today, he received a couple of bizarre DVDs, one of which was a Turkish horror/ sci-fi/ really weird flick that he was delighted to get. I think he and Evil Uncle Walter would really hit it off.

There's a new Doctor Who on tonight, and a fun day tomorrow. I plan to forget all about work. Oh, and my boss has been sick since Wednesday. Actually, she left early on Tuesday. Hmmmmmm...
