Today has been, in general, a better day than previous days this week have been. Things are looking a wee bit brighter, thanks in no small part to good friends who make me realize I am not alone, and bad guys are not coming to take me away. Thanks, you know who you are. :)

Also, I am getting a bonus this month, albeit a much smaller one than I expected. So boss lady doesn't get pins stuck into an effigy, at least not this month. ;)

My two coworkers alternately entertain and annoy me. Carolyn complains about Diane talking to her kids on the phone all day (which she does), and Diane complains about Carolyn complaining all day (which she does). Gods know what they say about me.

If it's raining when I get out of work, I won't have to go to the Taste of the Valley thingy. Who would believe I would be hoping for rain?

Barn party tomorrow!

It didn't rain, so I went to the Westside Taste of the Valley. Actually, the sun came out later, which was nice. We were set up right next to the bandstand, where a group called Union Jack was playing oldies from the British Invasion in the 60s: Beatles, Stones, Badfinger, etc. They were OK. The group that was playing when we left was a Neal Diamond tribute band. *shudder* Thank goodness *they* weren't playing next to us!

Our booth had a beanbag toss, and the prizes were food & drink tickets, and tix to the local women's soccer team. Lots of people were lured in by some dude named Dmitri, who was assigned to help us. He was funny.

Barb gave us each a pile of food & drink tickets. I had a couple of beers, some Chinese food, and a sumptuous chocolate cake (that I took "to go" and am eating right this moment). I was hoping to see someone I knew so I could give them to someone who would enjoy them. Maybe I'll just go back on Sunday; free food & beer!

Down the hill at the Big E, they were having a balloon festival, and we saw this eagle-shaped balloon. (Scroll down, it's next to the Energizer bunny)

Hmmmm, the themes this week seem to be eagles and the Beatles... how odd. I wonder if that means anything?
