I'm watching the Today show as I wake up, and they're doing a story on the 50th anniversary of the first telecast of The Wizard of Oz. I remember watching it every year as a kid (I have to find that pic of me watching it and scan that in), and I remember the first time I saw it in color (yes, I am that old). My mom told me to "watch this," and I gasped when Dorothy walked out of her black-and-white house into the colorful world of Munchkinland. The witch was green! Dorothy's dress was blue! The ruby slippers were, indeed, red! It was a revelation.

OMG, and now Sunday Morning is doing a story on Lassie! Reliving my childhood, much? *g*
