The paper is done, but unlike last week, I'm here until the bitter end. Kim has left because her father is in the hospital. It's a good thing I have music (and LJ), or I do believe I would go bonkers. Maybe I should've saved The Valley Advocate to read this afternoon. Oh, well!

It's another weird weather day in New England; it's in the 60s today, the first day of December. I have to echo [livejournal.com profile] leenah here: WTF? Snow and 'teens in Seattle, and rain & mild temps in New England? I'm thinking the weather gods are having a laugh at our expense. Ha ha, very funny, guys.

We're supposed to get high winds tonight. I sure hope we don't lose power; that would suck. Tomorrow should be much more seasonable, with temps in the 40s. Next up, sports...

Some of you may be wondering what happened with NaNoWriMo... I haven't updated in a while, have I? And now it's over. What happened is that my story just isn't turning out to be novel-length. I had thought it might top out at 50K, maybe as a YA novel, but to do that I would have to pad it way too much, and that's just not my style. It turns out that I really am a short-story writer after all. Someday there may be a book in me, but not today. I tend to be spare with words (don't laugh!), and I'm a ruthless self-editor. Slash and burn! So even if I did reach that mythical 50K, it would end up being much less after I got through with it. And that's just not a novel. Is there a NaShoStoMo? *g*
