Kat and Emily

I spent the afternoon with friends Kat and Arlene, and Arlene's daughter Emily. It was a fun girls' day out, and it was the first time I'd met little Em. Isn't she a cutie? Here she is with Kat, her godmother.

We met at the mall, and I have to say this was the longest time I've spent at a mall since I worked in one. It's really not my favorite place, but it was a convenient place to meet, and fairly easy to get around in with a stroller. Sort of.

It's an interesting place to people-watch, but I have to say that those are not my people. The pointless acquisition of stuff is just not my lifestyle. Even when I *could* afford it.

I came home to blessed silence, which is quite a departure from what I left earlier. One neighbor (you know which one) was playing his music too loud, and the other had a noisy faucet that was making sharp, nails-on-a-chalkboard squeals since sometime yesterday. My landlord finally called me back a bit ago and explained that he figured out that said neighbor can make it stop by running the water (I could've told him *that*), and the plumber is coming Monday to fix it for good. Hopefully. At least tonight I'll (hopefully) be able to sleep without ear plugs.
