a walk in the forest
Aug. 5th, 2007 01:37 pmIt was so nice out this morning, I couldn't wait to get outside and enjoy it. I went down to the wildlife sanctuary at Stanley Park, where there were tons of mushrooms poking out of the leaf litter. Unfortunately, about half my pix of them didn't turn out because my camera has a bad habit of focusing on the wrong thing, but it was a really nice walk, and much less crowded than the last few times I've been there.
It struck me that the forest is the perfect place to see the circle of life: everywhere there were downed trees covered in moss and seedlings, bringing life out of death. It was beautiful.
I even saw a guy on a horse, something I haven't seen there before. What a cool place to go riding!
The boardwalk & bridges that had gotten washed out in the spring still haven't been fixed. I was hoping to be able to go down that path. Alas, it's not looking like it will happen this season.
