I made a stop at Heritage Park on my break this afternoon, where a woman was feeding the swans, geese, and ducks. While I don't condone this activity (bread isn't particularly good for them) (plus, they're wild), but it sure was photogenic. These swans are hams, aren't they? The young geese look grown up, but they still make that cute peeping sound. The ducks are a bit shyer, but I got a couple of shots of them. Click the pic to see it bigger, and to see the rest!

TV or not TV...
Sep. 21st, 2007 04:05 pmIf you're at all curious about the new show Pushing Daisies, you can watch the first 15 minutes of it here.
It reminds me quite a lot of the late, lamented Wonder Falls, which is not at all surprising since some of the same folks are responsible for both shows. Which probably means that it will be great, I will love it, and it will get cancelled halfway through the season. Well, I shouldn't say that; I love Lost and I like Heroes quite a lot, so not *every* show I like is doomed, even the genre ones. So maybe there is hope yet.

seen in the wild
Sep. 21st, 2007 07:11 pmWhen I stopped at my local Big Y for dinner, I spotted
mindyklasky's new book, Sorcery and the Single Girl, on the shelf. It's not due out for a few days so I think they jumped the gun, but I did talk it up to the woman in line behind me, and she bought it too!
I really enjoyed the first book in the series, Girl's Guide to Witchcraft, so I am looking forward to the continuing adventures of Jane Madison. (Psst,
textiletart, she's a librarian!)
And hey, if you have a Big Y near you, it's on sale!
