wide awake

Just got home from the coffeehouse, which was fabulous. It just keeps getting better every year. Lots of terrific performances, fun stuff in the auction (which I wish I could afford), and friends to hang out with. The highlight of the evening, for me, was hearing dreda, rising_moon, and polyhymnia_ singing the siren song from O Brother, Where Art Thou? (sorry, don't know its name). Coincidentally (or maybe not), that's also my favorite part of the movie. :)

Unfortunately, on the way out of the parking lot I got a flat tire. Boo. Rob changed it for me (what a guy), and I took it easy on the way home (believe it or not) because I have one of those donut spares. Made it home OK (obviously), and now I'm wired. Took some kava kava, and will probably channel-surf until I feel sleepy enough to go to bed.

I finally got myself moving this afternoon, and headed out for a walk. I was going to just walk through the cemetery and wander around down the hill, but there were so many interesting things there that I never made it farther than the lower part of it. I took lots of cool pix, but my @#$%& Kodak software was fighting with me again so I didn't get very many processed. This one, of some wild grapes, didn't require any tweaking at all; it was the best of the dozen or so I took of them. I'll have to do the rest tomorrow at lunch.

The tire place isn't open on Sunday, so I have to drive to work on the donut tomorrow. I'm just really thankful that I got the flat in the parking lot, and not while going 75 mph on the highway.
