Here's what they looked like on March 9th:

signs of spring

Of course, there's snow in the forecast for the overnight. But it's not expected to accumulate, and to turn to rain by morning. We always get snow after doing the Spring Equinox ritual, sometimes the very next day. *g*

One of the reasons I continue to love walking around the cemetery next door is that I always find something interesting that I've never noticed before. It's not a huge cemetery, but it's fairly sizable, and yesterday I found this gem. It has a carving of a tomato plant, and the words "There was always enough for everyone." The storyteller in me wants to know more about this person: did they choose to have a tomato plant on their gravestone? I wonder what the person who carved the stone thought, and if this was the most unusual request they've ever had. Mostly, though, it just makes me smile.

Here's a closeup of the tomato plant:

I left work early this afternoon due to extreme crampiness in my nether regions. It's not that kind of cramps, but it was severe and extremely uncomfortable. It started while I was at lunch, and I wasn't able to eat more than a couple of bites of my salad. I went back to work, where there was some TMI that you don't need to know, and I told Kim that I had to leave. I was breaking into a sweat at that point, which makes me think that it's some kind of bug. I spent most of the afternoon curled up on my bed watching X-Files, which failed to cheer me even though they showed one of the funny episodes (the one with the Texas vampires). A few hours (and a few Advils) later, and the crampiness has eased a bit. Hence my being able to sit long enough to write an LJ entry without curling into a ball. I'm going to attempt eating something, but not yet. I really hope this goes away quickly!
