May. 29th, 2008 09:27 amIt started out being One Of Those Days this morning, but I refuse to let it stay that way. The first customer in the door treated me like I was totally incompetent, which really pisses me off. He said his ad has been messed up twice before, and kept questioning every little thing (like: Are there going to be commas in there? Yes, I'm a writer, I understand punctuation) until I just couldn't take it anymore, and I gave him a little lecture. I told him that the way to get good customer service is not to assume that the person you're dealing with is incompetent. He repeated that his ad had been messed up before. I told him that wasn't me, and just because someone messed up doesn't mean the whole company will. I then wished him a good day and walked away. So there. :P
Oh, and this was for a tag sale ad. *rolls eyes*
Things have gotten better since then, though. I just spoke with a new customer who was referred to us by a friend of his, who has had success with her ads here. That's nice to hear. Most of our advertisers are small businesses, and I like helping local businesses succeed. :)
Meanwhile (back at the ranch), we got into a discussion about those @#$% emails that people forward because it says it's bad luck if you don't, and I said that I'm a Witch, and an email can't possibly bring you bad luck, and Kim says, "You're a Witch?" to which I replied, "Hi, I'm Elizabeth, I work here, nice to meet you" because where has she been for the last four years? Hello, it's not like I keep it a secret or anything, and I know she's heard me talking about it with other coworkers. Sheesh! Pay attention, people, there'll be a quiz later...
Oh, and from the Happy Trails department, Alexander Courage has passed on to the great beyond to explore new worlds, strange civilizations, and... oops, I mean he's passed on. Did you know that the theme from Star Trek has lyrics? I've actually sung them, along with
sea_dark_wine and
justjanus, at a birthday party. *g*
