After a rainy night and a drizzly morning, the sky cleared up and the sun came out, so I went down to the woods for the first time in what feels like forever. What a wonderful way to end the long weekend!

It was in the 40's, so for once I didn't have to bundle up quite so much. The path was by turns icy, slushy, and muddy, but I had on my YakTrax, so I didn't have any trouble navigating around. The water was really high due to the rain and snowmelt, so a couple of paths were inaccessible, but I got around all right. It was so wonderful to be outside! It was just what I needed after the stresses of the past week.
When I got home, I made some of the peppermint hot chocolate mum gave me for Xmas. It's the kind you make in a saucepan with milk, not hot water, and it's not a powder mix, it's ground chocolate. OMG yum.
I went for another walk when I got tired of uploading the pix, because how many more days like this will we get this winter? It's supposed to get really cold again later in the week. Carpe Diem, you know? *g*
