random minutiae

Not a holiday for us today. Boo. We had a sales webinar (which is a very silly word, BTW) at noon, but they did give us lunch, which was nice. I'm having the second half of my sandwich for supper. The webinar crashed in the middle, which is just as well.

The forecast for tomorrow is snow followed by ice, so I asked the boss if I could switch my day off, and she said fine. Ice is not so much fun to drive on.

I watched the Golden Globes last night, and really, I could have skipped it. I seem to disagree with nearly everyone on which gowns were nice and which were ridiculous, and I found Ricky Gervais' mean-spirited patter distasteful. One can be ironic and funny without being cruel, but apparently he can't. I don't enjoy watching (or listening to) people being mean to others, which is also why I can't bring myself to watch 'reality' TV. I got picked on too many times as a kid, I guess.

Anyhoo. One good thing today: I was a runner-up in a photo contest in a rival newspaper. I don't know yet if it will appear in the paper, but I hope so!
