the end (hopefully) of the shoe saga
Jul. 8th, 2011 01:09 pmI went out to get all the last-minute outside errands done this morning, including taking the sandals back to Payless. As I walked out of the shop, I was thinking What now? as my eyes passed over a sidewalk sale next door at Bon Ton. What the heck, might as well give it a try, I thought. Of course they had nothing but flip-flops on the sale tables, so I went inside just to see what they had. Well, they had those Skechers that I've seen everywhere but were more than I wanted to pay, and of course they had them in my size, so I tried them on and walked around in them. They are, of course, perfect, and exactly what I was looking for. So I bit the bullet and bought them. So much for having any spending money for camp. But my feet are happy, and that's pretty big.
They're just like the Keens (that cost a lot more) that I've wanted for a long time, and with the amount of walking I do, I'm sure I'll get my money's worth. But I'm keeping the box and the receipt, just in case. ;)
