in the wild

My first foray into wifi in the wild was successful. I got a gift card for Starbucks the other day (for doing the audit for the network ads - at least some good comes out of those dratted things!), so I took Daphne (did I mention that 'Daphne' was the winner in the poll?) and headed down there for a nice decaf mocha and some surfing.

I downloaded iTunes, so I can use my own computer to sync my iPod instead of my work one. Which means I have to load all my tunes again, but I can do that while I watch TV or something.

Then I downloaded the latest version of Firefox, because the one on there was old and wouldn't show me G+.

Then I downloaded the Verizon software, so maybe I can get online with her at home. It would be nice to be able to make snarky comments online while I'm watching something on a station I can't get in the bedroom. *g*

I found out that Staples and McDonald's (both across the street from Starbucks) also have wifi hotspots. Nice to know where they are in town, in case I ever need one and don't feel like paying four bucks for a coffee.

I feel kinda badly that I'm missing the coven Lammas tonight, and the Lammas Faire tomorrow, but my car needs a new tire and it's not in the budget this week. Also, it's supposed to rain tomorrow. So I'll stay home and do something creative instead.
