When I turned on the news this morning, their top story was about a huge fire in East Longmeadow, which is where I work. It was a retirement living complex which was almost completed (no one lived there yet, thank goodness), and it affected at least three of my coworkers in diverse ways: P had to cancel the ad they had placed with her for next week; it was going to be our front page story (it'll be a much different story now!); and the firefighter who broke his ankle is also our art director (the same guy we all played a joke on for his birthday last year). Like ripples on the water, altering courses in different directions!

What a horrific fire. It's lucky no one was killed.

I saw the pictures, how scary!

Al is probably going to have to have surgery on his ankle. Poor guy!
