'Twas a lovely day to get outside, and I took advantage of it by going down to the park. The frog pond has thawed, reflecting the little bridge there.

I saw that white dog again; I think they must live nearby, as I see them there often. He came right over to me, but would not hold still. He's a sweetie, letting me pet him before wandering off to investigate some interesting smell.



The daffodils are getting taller, though no buds yet.



This cool little tree with curly branches had tassels all over it.



The path into the woods is clearing of ice & snow. Parts of it were still icy, but for the most part it's much easier to navigate than last week.



Just off the boardwalk, I found skunk cabbage emerging from the leaf litter!



I heard what sounded like chainsaws in the woods, but turned out to be a couple of guys on motorbikes. They went by me twice, and the second time one of them stopped to ask me if this was a walking path. I said that it was, and he asked me if there were bike paths there. I told him that I didn't know. I took this pic surreptitiously as we talked, which is why it's not centered. I kind of like it anyway.



While avoiding a bunch of teenagers ahead on the path, one of whom was a whining drama queen ("there are prickers!"), I made my way through the reeds to take a pic of the bridge from the other side of the stream for a change.

I saw this canoeist on the way out, who said hello as I pointed my camera at him:

It was only in the low fifties, but felt much warmer. I had on a fleece pullover and vest, and I was quite warm. It was nice not to have to bundle up!

I went out to the grocery store a little while ago with just my fleece jacket over a t-shirt. The bank clock said 53 degrees. Pretty nice for the last weekend of winter!
