I had to work my company's booth at the home show after work. It wasn't too bad a gig; I got to walk around and see the booths, and the publisher (the father of the kid we were training this week) went to White Hut and got us burgers. We also get three hours of personal time for working two hours at the show, so it's a win-win.
Some of the exhibitors were a little surprising to see at a home show; there were at least three places selling dip mixes, a beef jerky booth, Mary Kay cosmetics (something for the wives, perhaps?), Bavarian beer nuts, and even the Shriner clowns, one of whom had on a Red Sox jersey with the name "Dookie" on the back. I kid you not.
What's funny, and a little ironic, is that they were replacing the windows in my apartment today. My landlord asked me if it was OK for them to do it while I was gone, and I said I'd rather not be there while they were doing it! So I have shiny new windows now. The old ones were the kind that crank out, and single-pane, so he's going to save a bundle on heating next year. I'll have to remember to close them when it rains now, though.
I was treated to a nice sunset on the drive home. So pretty.
This moth was on the outside of our building this afternoon. He found a good spot to hide from predators!
