Flickr is having some trouble this morning, and it's not letting me post from there. Well, I'll just have to do it the old-fashioned way! ;)

I walked down to Heritage Park on my break yesterday to visit the swans. The cygnets are nearly as big as their parents now, but their feathers and bills are still grey. I wonder when they turn color? Wikipedia wasn't forthcoming. They also have yet to develop the distinctive bump on their bills. They definitely look like swans now, though.
We're heading into the season of my favorite holiday: Halloween! It was my favorite way before I became a Witch. My mother always dressed up for the trick-or-treaters, and always carved the largest pumpkin she could find with a scary face. Once or twice, she decorated the front door with fake cobwebs and a giant spider. You might say that it's no wonder I'm a Witch, and you'd be correct. *g*
If you love Halloween too, check out
eldritchhobbit's LJ this month: she's doing her annual Halloween Countdown, and it's always great fun.
Today is the first day of Picture Westfield (I erroneously reported earlier that it's called Photograph Westfield), and it's raining. They did say it should clear up later, so I plan on heading out this afternoon to begin my contribution to the project. If it stays dreary, I might try some black-and-white photos.
I took Tuesday next off to have an extra day to take photos; it gets dark so early now that it's difficult to get out after work before the light is gone. The forecast for that day is good.
What are you up to this weekend?
