Gargoyle, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

This is the first pic I took with the iPad. I thought it fit, since the gargoyle was also the subject of my first pix with the new camera when I got it.

I spent my whole lunch break playing with the iPad. Downloaded a bunch of apps. One of them was Kindle, and it just occurred to me that I have a few bucks left on those gift cards at Amazon... any recommendations? Authors, are any of your books on Kindle?

I plan to go down to the library on Saturday to play some more, and to see if I can borrow e-books on it. That would be uber cool.

With all the crap I've been through the past few years, it's nice to have something squee-worthy for a change. :)

My 2nd book is up for Kindle preorder (it officially releases in January).

I don't know if you like contemporary YA, though. If so, I would also recommend any of these books:

There are also a wealth of classics you can download to your kindle for free. Check them out. I've got a bunch of Jane Austin that way, but there are lots of others as well.

There's an app called Overdrive that many of the libraries use for lending ebooks (though Amazon is getting into that soon, too). If your home library doesn't do it, ask if they belong to a library network - Malden doesn't do ebooks but b/c we're in a network with the BPL I can use my card to borrow from them electronically.

PS - also many independent bookstores sell Google ebooks - you can't use the Kindle app, but there are others you can. I try to buy them via my local bookstore when possible b/c they do get some $ from the transaction if done through their site.
